Branches

In January of 2024 the Board of Governors Announced the adoption of a bylaws amendment, which formally outlined the process and requirements for the creation of local branches of the Society. We are happy to announce our first four Society Branches and a number of “Branches Provisional”, the details of which may be found below.

Local Branches are extensions of the Society, they may be created by any five or more members in a given geographic area, and are empowered to further promote the aims of the Society on the ground. No additional dues are required to join or to create a branch. Members may be listed as a member of their branch or may choose to affiliate with the society as a whole. Branches each bear their own badge set upon the console of the AHS badge. Local Branches are free to hold events, lectures, do public outreach, and more. They also take it in turns to host the Society’s Annual Meeting each year. For more information on our existing Branches or how to charter your own with other members in your area, please see below.
