3.10 Director of Publications

3.10.1 Ex-Officio Service
3.10.1.1 The Society Secretary serves ex-officio as Director of Publications.
 
3.10.2 Duties. The Director is the primary officer responsible for matters relating to the Society’s print and electronic publications. Specifically, the Director:
3.10.2.1 Supervises and manages the Society’s publications (including the Society journal, newsletter, brochures, website content, and other materials);
3.10.2.2 Sets editorial policies and identifies ideas for new Society publications in consultation with the Publications Committee and the Board;
3.10.2.3 Defines and oversees the Society’s graphic identity for consistency across all Society publications, printed matter, advertising and the Society website;
3.10.2.4 Coordinates activities of the Publications Committee;
3.10.2.5 Coordinates outside vendor printing services for all publications;
3.10.2.6 Recommends for Board approval permissions and copyright polices for Society publications in consultation with the Publications Committee and provides copyright permissions in accordance with those policies;
3.10.2.7 Maintains a publications archive; and
3.10.2.8 Renders an annual financial report and budget to the Board through the Treasurer and Finance Committee.
