Almost 10 years on the "refrigerator" (and emblazoned on various items).
The only thing that’s changed is the crest.
It represents our oldest ancestor, founder of our clan, named Mehtsun (b. ~1700)
His nickname was "Tsenai," which means "hard"— but in a way that is linguistically unique to the Tigrinya language:
"Hard, like the hardness of a tight knot."
I think a single fist grasping a cendree angular bowen knot, which could be emblazoned to appear as iron, or stone… gets across that message. It seems appropriate as a crest or badge that can be used by extended family as well.
I’m planning to register them with the armorial-register (http://www.armorial-register.com/armorial-register-contact.html). I’m most attracted to them because they have an international scope, and because I get "stuff."
They’ve endorsed my use of a custom dividing line, which is great. I’ve heard some positive things about them on this forum, any recent opinions/experiences in dealing with them?
Without further ado:
Blazon:
Per fess épiné Or and Vert in chief a bee volant and in base a rose all counterchanged
Crest:
On a wreath Or and Vert an Abyssinian fist grasping an angular bowen knot bendwise Cendrée

Congrats! Looks great to me, and quite unique, I think.
Very nice! It seems that for many coats of arms, the longer you percolate, the better the final product.
Ditto!!—I’ve admired your arms for years, and am glad to see you here again!
Ten years—now THAT’s a real refrigerator test!!
(and an object lesson for those who have trouble with deferred gratification)
I too have always been taken by your design. Very nice indeed. And I must say, that is one heck of a refrigerator!
Congratulations!
Just noticed that you’re in California—if anywhere near the Bay Area, a small group of heraldry nuts wiii be meeting for lunch in Mountain View on Wednesday 4/23, If you (or anyone else here) might be able to join us, we’ll be at Mario’s italian restaurant on Leong Streeet at 11:30-ish…
Officially started registration with armorial international/burkes. Nice to have the arms published internationally!

Hey there! I may be able to make it as I work very near by…
More tinkering with the Abyssinian rendition.

Wonderfully unique applications, Menkerios.
