Nathaniel Taylor of the NEHGS Committee on Heraldry has advised me that the Committee’s long-awaited website is now on-line at http://www.committeeonheraldry.org/.

While the database is not yet fully populated, ongoing work promises to turn this site into an extremely valuable resource for the study of heraldry, especially in the United States.  Congratulations to the COH on this big step forward!

Did the charge (now $200) for registering assumed arms go up?

It seems like it. When I registered my arms about ten years ago, I think it was only a nominal fee of something like $20.

I can confirm that the email address now does indeed work.

It was $100 when I had my arms recorded in 2012.

Will the new website include assumed arms registered with NEHGS, or be limited to historical arms as in their past print publications?  If assumed arms are to be included on the website, $200 may be reasonable.  If not its a lot of money to merely be stuffed in a file with no publication.
