Perhaps the AHS could offer a diploma, much like the Heraldry Society offers.  Of course, we would be taking on a new level of authority that comes with more responsibility than the AHS may want. I have no idea. If an organization is going to slip into the private-non-governmental role as a US heraldic authority or accreditation service - who is it going to be?

According to the LP, Ebenezer was the third son of Joseph Jessup of Fairfield, Connecticut.  I wonder if any of Ebenezer’s brothers were patriots and/or remained in Connecticut after independence (since the grant applied to them too).  No word if Colonel Jessup’s motto was "you can’t handle the truth" :D

If I am reading the Jessup book correctly, Ebenezer’s brother Edward (also a Loyalist) had a great-grandson John Hamilton Jessup (b. 1843 in Canada) who was a planter in Virginia on the James River and later resided in Baltimore and Florida.  So I guess at least one heir of this grant ended up in the USA.  It would be interesting to learn if any other male-line descendants of Joseph Jessup still live in America (although according to the Jessup book John Hamilton was unmarried as of 1883):https://archive.org/stream/edwardjessupofwe00jesu#page/266/mode/1up
