Normally when a company (especially in my town) uses some coat of arms, it’s pretty bad. But this new pub just opened and I think it’s rather decent.

Any good pub heraldry in your towns?

Hardly Andrew Jamison or Marco Foppoli, but a nice simple, easily remembered and recognizable design.  Can’t say if it’s sufficiently unique - unlikely that there’s an existing design with a mug of beer in chief, but this type of mug could as easily be a chalice.  Worth pondering, preferably over a similar mug…

Agreed. But I’ve become so used to shields with some device in each quarter that I found its simplicity refreshing

I was in San Diego over the holiday weekend and took a photo of the very same sign in the Gaslamp district. I hadn’t got around to posting it yet, but although I was originally thinking it was a candidate for the Heraldry Hall of Shame, it has been growing on me.
