Hello, everyone. For those who are not on Facebook, here is a recently completed bookplate, featuring Tankerness House, part of an estate held by the client’s ancestors on Orkney. The Townhouse is now a museum. FYI, I did this in both gray scale and the sepia tone version posted here. The client and I also discussed the option of displaying his arms also in sepia tones, but he opted
for the contrast.
The contrast is nice—really makes the shield pop. And I think the contrast also shows the coat of arms as continuing to be relevant, while the house is part of history.
