Craig Steepy here, since I can’t (or don’t know how to) change my user name and since the Prince Edward subject didn’t get a whole lot of traction, let’s try another one.

In the year 2031, Prince George of Cambridge will turn 18 years old which means he will receive his first, of many variations, coat of arms.  The variations will depend on his exact status and position at the time of his 18th birthday.  At a minimum, he will likely be in the same position his father, Prince William, who is now 2nd in line to the throne, but a more likely scenario is that he will be the heir apparent, 1st in line to the throne.

There is really not a whole lot to speculate on here as the royal arms are steeped in tradition and fairly predictable.  The one exception is if the College of Arms sees fit to add a charge to the label of three points of Prince George’s arms?  As most of us know, both Prince William and Prince Harry received a charge of an “escallop gules” on their respective labels in honor of their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

The College of Arms quotes on their website:  “It is a welcome innovation to incorporate maternal symbols into the Royal Family’s arms and it is something that Prince William and his family wanted to do. In the fullness of time, Prince William’s [and Prince George’s] Arms will change, as The Prince of Wales’s shall, but a precedent has been set here that others in the Royal Family may well follow”.

With that, I predict the following; Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be granted their own arms on their respective 18th birthdays and will receive the royal arms of the U.K. differenced with a label of three points (maybe five points for Charlotte depending on the current monarch) charged with an acorn slipped and leaved gules in honor of their mother, Kate the Duchess of Cambridge.  Prince George’s charge will likely only be on the centre point of the label while I predict that Charlotte will be charged with an acorn on at least 3 points of her label.  Image attached.
