I’m going to try to engrave (intaglio technique) my crest on a flat piece of lapis this weekend. I work near a downtown jewelry district, and was able to get the stone and the tools for under $100.
Will update with photos as it progresses.
If it turns out, I’ll give it to a jeweler to have the ring made. Those who have followed some of my posts may know that I am mildly artistic.

So I started working on the practice piece, which is not reversed as intaglio should be to only make it easier for me to practice. The problem now is I don’t know how to polish the image. Back to the jewelry findings store on Monday.

Switched to carnelian for the final version. Delivered to the jeweler. Any day now… I’m going to sell it to my wife as an investment in gold.
