The information about using the Official Navy Seal may be found here.  The page also contains an alternate emblem which may be used by permission.

A fairly good representation of the seal is on this page:

And the same folks use the emblem here:

For TR, one might add the arms of Harvard, the Porcellian Club, and Delta Kappa Epsilon.

A few days ago, I was having a rummage in some storage boxes that I have accumulated over the years of moving house. Can’t remember what it was I was looking for as I got side tracked. Isn’t it always the case. Anyway, I came across this, the coat of arms of the very first school that I attended, Beaudesert School, when I was 5 years of age. The badge was actually worn by my father on his school blazer when he attended the same school as a wee lad. So this badge, in a way, is hereditary.

Finding this badge again enabled me to add one more coat of arms to my collection of arms from the County of Bedfordshire. The School colours were red and black. I don’t know why the mullet Sable but the 6 English Royal Crowns represents the 6 monarchs, (starting with Queen Victoria), who have come and gone in the schools history.

My emblazonment:

I decided to do a search for the school to see where it was at these days and to enquire about the bird crest due to my uncertainty of it….a buzzard, river ouzel, a phoenix perhaps. But I discovered that it is indeed a buzzard.

The school as it was when I attended it, was pulled down in 1981 due to its run down state and health reasons. It was found to have rather large fungi growing inside the cavity walls that would have been quite at home in the movie “The Day of the Trifids”.

The school had been in use for 168 years.

Fortunately, just prior to the schools demolition, some individuals had the foresight to remove a few artifacts for posterity least they be destroyed for all time. Amongst the saved artifacts were a memorial plaque to those teacher’s and former pupils who gave their lives during the two World Wars, the original school bell and a carved wooden tablet….

Wooden figure from the War Memorial…..

cont…....

“On Thursday, June 26th, 1913, the School celebrated its 100th year…... The Tablet was carved in Oak by Mr. H. Wibberly. It was designed by the Headmaster, Mr. W. Currie and the plans drawn by the Art Master, Mr. J. Bucklow. The top displays the towns’ Coat of Arms, underneath this, the circle containing the inscription represents Sir George Woodman’s chain of office, with the badge of office at the bottom.

Today the Tablet can be found hanging in the reception of Beaudesert Lower School. It was retrieved from the boys school when it was being demolished in 1981.”

Reading the school web site brought back a lot of memories for me, about the people who taught me, former pupils who lived within 100 yards of where I lived etc.

Its history revealed a couple of rather bizarre forms of punishment use in the 1800’s. Suspending a misbehaved pupil from a wicker basket that was attached to the ceiling via a rope and pulley system,......

..or locking the child in a cupboard that was built under the teacher’s desk.

One ironic fact is that at one point in the schools history (pre 1900), it was for boys only, known as Beaudesert Boys School…...nowadays it is run and operated entirely by women and is known as Beaudesert Lower School.

A further fact: in the late 1800’s, a former pupil from the school settled here in Queensland, started a farm and name it "Beaudesert". Subesequently, a township grew around the farm and is now the town of Beaudesert. It is located appromately 60 miles west of where I now live in Brisbane.
