INS Valsura, located in Rozi Island in the Gulf of Kutch, 5 km from Jamnagar, is a premier training establishment of the Indian Navy.

INS Mandovi, located at Goa, is the officers’ basic training institution. All officer candidates (other than NDA entry) undergo their initial naval training here which varies from six months to three years. The present academy is insufficient to meet the future requirements of the Navy and a new school is being built at Ezhimala, Kerala.

There are numerous training schools under INS Venduruthy, which impart specialist training in field like Navigation & Direction, Seamanship, Gunnery, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Communications & Electronic Warfare, Leadership, Tactics, Underwater Diving, etc.

The Aircraft Carrier INS Viraat.

The Destroyer INS Delhi. This design is based on the Badge approved in 1919 for the Cruiser HMS Delhi, based in turn on the CoA of the namesake City.

The Destroyer INS Mysore. The Badge shows the symbol of Mysore the Holy Bird Garur Berunda.

The Destroyer INS Mumbai (this city is more known as Bombay). The Badge shows "The Gateway to India" a portal erected in the Bombay Harbour.

The Pentagonal Frame of the three Destroyers Badges echoes the previous Cruisers that carried their names. Prior to 1940 The Cruisers of the Royal Navy had used Pentagonal Frames.
