This is Independance Square in Kyiv (Ukraine). They had a crisis in their government (the Socialist party decided to wander away from the strongly pro-western coalition and hand the balance of power to the strongly anti-NATO, pro-Russian coalition) while we were there, which resulted in many people from every party camping out in the square and on the Parliament grounds, with each tent flying the flag of a political party.

Could you explain that? I’ve come up with many adjectives on my trips to Ukraine (some of them complimentary, some of them unpostable in a family forum), but "Arthurian" has never been one of them…

I wasn’t speaking geographically—The photo reminded me of movies I’ve seen with King Arthur with banners and tents.
