Hi all,
I was recently asked to create a new coat of arms for a good friend of mine, so I started by looking into his family background. His family is from Poland, so I did some interesting reading about Polish heraldry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_heraldry . I also found some Polish arms associated with his surname, Czarnecki, at http://www.jurzak.pl/ . Armed with this and other personal information, we created the following arms:
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e221/pblanton/Heraldry/Czarnecki.jpg
Arms: Per pale argent and azure three eagles counterchanged.
Crest: Issuant from a wreath of the colors a white-tailed deer proper and suspended from its neck by a guige gules an escucheon bearing azure a (funky eastern cross) or.
Can anyone help me blazon the funky eastern cross in the crest? It also appears in the Prus arms, but I haven’t been able to find a blazon for it.
Take care,
Nicely done.
As to the cross… I’m not sure. At first I thought you simply forgot to carry the second beam through the main beam, but I guess not. I wonder if there is info on this in Parker’s on line site…
