What does the bottom half of the shield represent?  It’s a bit overpowering (to me) with all that red.

errr ..... I mean "Gules".

Another quick doodle.  I would also consider the nib of a pen instead of the inverted pile. A lion’s gamb erased holding a triangle that emanates the gyronny would be neat.

White cross on red or white cross fimbriated red is Denmark.  Danish surname, Danish Brotherhood.

It’s a lot of red for me too.  I’m trying to get accustomed to it.  I have a strong preference for blues and greens, but to get it monochromatic (the scandinavian style), you can’t have it both ways, as they say.

Mike’s attachment showed up for me, FWIW.
