I agree with Joe.  The first quarter is simple and elegant.

I like the version you had of it a few posts back.  I’m thinking of the one that had the 3 horns, the Chevron, and the 1 arrow.

I realized that the chevron was not going work.  However, in order to give a nod to the chevron vert in the Forster arms, I opted to change to the field to vert, but maintain the arms I had originally designed.  Everything else seemed too cluttered, and these rather simple arms have more of an impact.

I corrected the colors as well, so hopefully there is no more "school bus orange."

Now that is just outstanding, simply great color selection! I love the arm as a crest as well.

Looks good!  I’d fatten the shaft of the arrow a bit, but that’s a minor & quite optional point (no pun intended)

I like the green very much here—very much a hunter’s (or forstmeister’s) color.

Agreed. I thought the same exact thing—green=hunter/fo(re)ster. Additionally, the green does not clash with the gold like red sometimes does.

Very nice look.  smile

Take care,

Many thanks to all of the members and their helpful comments.  Although the final changes to my original design were very minor, I think they make a world of "difference" (pun intended).  Also, thanks for putting up with my frequent design changes.

I was uncomfortable with the Gules for many reason, and think the Vert is quite appropriate.  Not only does it allude to the chevron Vert of the original arms, it is the color of the forest, and very appropriate for the occupational origin of the surname.

All the best,

-Ben

the arms look great but the crest is a bit busy… feathers, arms, birds and flowers all in one crest… you might cut it down a bit… Maybe loose the birds.

I agree.  The crest is busy.
