My daughter appears to have developed an interest in heraldry as well, could someone help with the blazon for this
How about this -
(public attempt at blazoning #3:rolleyes: )
Arsm: Azure a Unicorn rampant ungued and attired Or and in chief two crosses bottany argent voided azure
Crest: A lion rampant proper maned or

I think the lion should be blazoned as Or… also, if you want the tail to be knotted it should be described as "nowed" as in…
A lion rampant nowed Or
Also, it bears a fair resemblance to Mr. Center’s Arms over at HSS…
does anyone know if they are too similar?
I’m not sure how that would work. The look similar in layout, but each of the charges are different as well as the crest. I’d leave that to more knowledgeable fellows!
So, was my blazoning correct?

the shield looked right to me, unless I’m mistaken, that shield blazon with the corrected crest should do it… assuming it isn’t a design conflict
Everett/Andrew,
Thanks for that catch and the blazoning, I agree, it does appear too similar. Adding an additional charge, would this differentiate it sufficiently?
Happy to help. The blazon would change:
Arms: Azure a Unicorn rampant argent ungued and attired or and three bottony crosses argent voided azure 2 in chief 1 in base
Is there a bordure or on that, or is it just some random emblazoning weirdness?
just an emblazoning weirdness, when she was using armorial gold, she chose an extra fancy blank to build on, the intent was not to border

Azure a Unicorn rampant argent ungued and attired Or between three bottony crosses argent voided azure 2 in chief 1 in base
although I’m not sure if "attired" is the right word for unicorns… that is mostly used for deer-kin… perhaps "horned" is better… also… the last bit "2 in chief and 1 in base" isn’t required, it helps make it more definite but that is the already the default arrangement… as is specifying "voided azure" if something is voided and a different tincture is not specified the assumption is that it is of the field.
Tchuess!
one last thing.. I promise it will be the last… there has been some heated discussion about the merits of capitalizing tinctures, the details aside I think it would be best if you capitalized at least Or, so as to distinguish it from the conjunction.
I was all full of confidence with my first successful blaon, so I was re-typing fast and missed the shift key! See what happens when your head gets big?!:D
Just curious, Rand, but how did your daughter become interested in heraldry? Did she like your arms and wanted a coat of her own? Maybe she didn’t want to wait around for yours!

I was kinda wondering the same thing, myself. Of course, she doesn’t have to wait around for yours and I think yours would look quite nice on a lozenge.

Take care,
Stephen,
Once I bought the package from Armorial Gold, she got hooked, was charging around trying to come up with her own mark
Philip,
That does look good, thank you for your efforts, her design I think was more based on her not liking the cadencing and my choices for charges than anything else.
