I think it’s nicely drawn!  If it were larger, I could give you better critique.  The only thing I can see, and again it could be because of the size, you may want to consider raising the cross just a hair so it looks a little more centered.

I’m inclined to agree with you about raising the cross.  One of the things I was wondering is about the banner…While I intended an obvious lack of symetry, as it turns out, the banner looks a little lopsided to me.  I’m not sure what to do about that at this point.

I would say raise the cross just a smidgen, and it’d be spot on center.  Either way, it’s a very nice drawing!

Very nice drawing! It reminds me alot of some Arabic seals, in which the whole design, with accents and ornaments is within an imaginary "circle". I think this technique makes for a very neat rendition.

Cheers,

I think if you shorten the banner beneath, it will leave a negative space on that side.  I think the whole think flows very nicely, even if it is a little lopsided.  (never would’ve noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out!):)

Cross raised

Torse lowered actually I made it thicker.  I felt this gave it better proportion and more opportunity to show some dimension.

Banner changed - I realize it is a little thicker on the dexter side than on the sinister side…I’ll have to fix that on another draft.  I do believe I achieved better balance this time.

Your opinions?

I deleted the pic in the first post, because I saw no reason to waste "bandwidth", or "memory space."  I’m not an IT guy, so I’m not sure if my reasoning is correct but, It seems to me that image would have to be stored somewhere.  I didn’t want to waste the space.

I posted a pic of version 2 in post #9.  If you guys can’t see that image, I really have no clue what is going on.  It shows up for me.  Perhaps one of the IT savvy members could help.

Trent…You flatter me.  I do appreciate the compliment.  Honestly, I am strictly an amature.  I have given no consideration as to fees.  I’d be happy to draw something up for you.  The catch is that you must be patient.  I do this in my spare time,  I really don’t want to turn my hobby into something I have to get done quickly because someone is paying me.  Also if you want something more elaborate such as illumination on natural vellum, I would expect you to pay for the materials.

To everyone else, thank you for the compliments and constructive criticism, it is all appreciated.

Pic’s showing up for me just fine. And it’s a very nice job! I had thought (probably because you’re putting them in a perfectly circular space) that the wings in your crest were horns of some type until I looked at your avatar for confirmation. Perhaps a full-color rendering would fix that, but it’s something you may want to approach at some time.
