I wrote this as a Christmas and New Year greeting with a "heraldic twist". This particular part of the Forum is entitled "News" it isn’t really for discussions of the historical merit of attributed arms. If someone wishes to further this discussion then please start a new thread in another place. This thread is for exchanging good wishes and greetings for the holidays.
THANK YOU.

Fr. Guy makes a good point. I have created a new thread in the Religious Heraldry section and moved this discussion there.
May I also echo his wishes for a very merry and blessed Christmas to everyone.
May the God of love and peace delight to dwell with you and bless you. As one who keeps Christmas, please know that my good wishes for peace on earth extend to all of you, whether you keep Christmas or not. May the coming year bring you happiness and abundance.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
is that how you say Merry Christmas in Arabic Joe and Mohamed?
i can say it in Irish, Spanish and English. so it’d be neat to learn how to say it in Arabic.
Nollaig shona dhuit - a rather formal Merry Christmas in Irish.

Not intentionally; Mohamed wished us Merry Christmas, so I said "Thank you, Mohamed, and blessed ‘Id," referring to the upcoming feast of ‘Id al-Adha ("feast of the sacrifice," commemorating Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son to God) that concludes the period of the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. It’s one of the two biggest holidays of the Muslim calendar, and it happens to fall near Christmas this year.
Christmas is also an ‘id—‘Id al Milad, Feast of the Birth (i.e., Nativity). So I guess you could tell an Arab Christian ‘Id mubarak in reference to Christmas, but I think the more normal phrase is Milad majid (pronounced "mee-led ma-jeed"). Majid means something like "generous, kind, compassionate."
