This is the weirdest request I ever received, a dragons eye to snout. :-?
Very nice! I really like the textured look.
This is one of my favorite COA I have seen in a while. It is memorable and bold, but absolutely simple. I wish more contemporary arms were this simple and beautiful. The emblazonment is very good; I like the textured effect, the beveling on the cross (Latin crosses in heraldry often look "generic", not this one) and I find the fact that the field chequy is curved.
Chris
Chap, in what media do you typically provide emblazonments to clients? This particular emblazonment is quite handsome. My tastes definitely run to the abstract and geometrical.
Thank you Kevin & Chris, lately I’ve been painting with that "grunge" texture in mind to give a sense of oldness to the arms, or at least that’s what I think I’m doing….
Hey Fred, I usually will send various formats (gif., jpeg., png., and tiff) using a CMYK coloring base (best for printing they say) and various sizes by way of a zip. file or burnt to a CD
Chap,
So you don’t do the printing yourself? I like that "grunge" texture you’re working with. Your emblazonments are always impressive, but I think rusticating them in this way gives them a certain substance/character.

I could invest in a professional printer and do it that way but then the graphics applications would be limited unless you scan the image to apply it in the same manner that I already provide, And yes “substance/character” those are the words I was looking for.:-D and thank you!

You’re welcome, Chap. Are your emblazonments not meant to be printed? Have you seen them on different kinds of paper—vellum, etc.?
Yes, and they print great, especially on photo and linen paper, even with my $300 dollar fax-scanner-printer combo.
I’m still trying to locate a printer that can print the color white, which would be most effective on an off white canvas or linen paper.
I create my rendition with at the least 300 dpi. (graphic minimum for printing)

That’s called an offset printing press, Chap.
Unless I am mistaken there is no such thing as a printer that prints white. Color printers emulate the standard 4-color process (C=cyan, M=magenta, Y=yellow, K=black) from which nearly any color can be produced.

That sounds too expensive for me…! Lol
I received a graphic from a source that printed on color paper and the white depicted was amazing. I could not imagine a small shop as this having a printing press, but who knows.
It’s been awhile, but maybe I should contact them about it.
I finally set up a website to showcase.

Very nice, Chap!
By the way, about 8 years ago, there was a printer marketed under the name of "Alps" which printed in white. As I understand it, it was a regular color printer with an added mechanism similar to "white out tape" found in electric typewriters that were correctable. Alas, I believe they had some major problems and no longer market that particular printer. Haven’t heard of a replacement to date.
