Arms of Lorenzo Simmons Winslow, Washington D.C. These are also devised by the College of Arms.
cool. thanks.
Very nice!
Might I suggest that arms such as these be collected and stored in an armorial. This is the kind of stuff that future searchers and surfers may find usefull and interesting. I certainly don’t think that we need to go into the level of detail involved with the Presidential Series, or the Signers Series. Simply store the image and create a link to an alphabetical list of names.
Well that sounds like a good proposal, here are some new arms this time granted by the Chief Herald of Ireland:

Joseph Robert Carroll, Toledo, OH.

Bishop McCauley, Silverspring, MD.
Wow,
I am interested to see that Mr. Carroll is/was from Toledo. I am disappointed that I have never heard of the man. Apparently he was an author and expert on Liturgical Music and Gregorian Chant.
as always, i am a HUGE fan of irish heraldry and it is nice to see it. 8)
Be sure to acknowledge the artist each time you show his work (which is likely still under copyright in any case)
Always a good point Mike!
As to the Irish ones I really like the treatment of both. The border differencing for O’Carroll, which incorporates the base arms of O’Carroll Ely, not O’Carroll Oriel, and the refreshing take on the Scottish MacAulay arms, as these clearly are and clearly are not for either native-Irish MacAuley, or MacAlwey, arms are very well done and just fine work indeed.
Isn’t the artist von Volbroth? Or are these just in his works?

Ugggh!!! I wasn’t thinking.
The artist IIRC is Carl von Volborth, who I believe is still living and working—an excellent artist!
Yes von Volborth is the artist to all the previous arms shown.

The Arms of Winthrop Williams Aldrich (1885-1974), he was the U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s 1953-1957. As a Honourary Kinght Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire (the insignia which is shown attatched to the Shield) he was entitled to Supporters, and chose the Bald Eagle of the USA and the Lion of the United Kingdom. The arms was devised in 1956 by the College of Arms. Unfortunatly I had not written down who the artist is.

Where did you find this illustration?
I really like this image of the arms of Mr. Winthrop Williams Aldrich.
What is the animal on the fess, a bison?
Also, I like the bald eagle supporter, it has a very Georgian/Victorian old-timey look to it, very stylized….
Cheers,
