Interesting article. It is a pretty harsh assessment of UK heraldry, which he sees as anemic because the UK still holds onto a hybrid monarchy/democracy. His thesis is that heraldry is good for democracy and vice versa, and if the British were to embrace French-style democracy then heraldry might be reborn in the UK.
