I was looking around on Amazon and saw that there are two free heraldry books that are available for a Kindle. They are "The Handbook of English Heraldry" by Charles Boutell and "The Manual of Heraldry; Fifth Edition" by Anonymous. I downloaded both and they both seem to be great resources for beginners. They give the history behind heraldry, what different charges mean, descriptions of everything, the rules, etc.
"Heraldy, History and Popular" by Charles Boutell is also available for $.99.
The only downside to all of these is that the drawings are all in black and white so it may be a little difficult when trying to explain the tincture rule or something of that nature. But otherwise, these three books are great reference for almost no money at all.
Great catch! Do you have links to them?
