The more I sample the products, the better all the arms look.
Comment deleted, redundant. Note to self: read all posts from the beginning!
Some of this heraldry is quite genuine (says the Belgian who can have many of these goodies any time he likes). On the bottle of Hoegaarden, the shield with the arm and the crosier are the arms of the village. It used to be ecclesiastical territory, belonging to the prince-bishopric of Liege. Since all the villages around it belonged to the duchy of Brabant, Hoegaarden was something like a tax haven for breweries.
One of the older entries shows the arms of Affligem, the first among the abbeys of Brabant. As you have surely worked out, it was dedicated to St Peter and Paul.
Cheers!
Well .... it’s not wine, and definitely NOT beer. My favorite coffee additive is:

I don’t know if this falls into the unreasonable wife catagory, but it is humorous.
There is a store in my area that shelves individual bottles of beer, and leaves the cardbord boxes out, so that the customer is free to pick a variety for purchace. Once every couple of weeks I do just that, and sometimes I pick themes. Sometimes they are all different varietys from the same brewer. Sometimes they are all stouts, or porters.
Well…tonight, as my wife saw me unloading my beer into the fridge she exclaimed with disappointment in her voice" My God honey, you bought heraldic beer!!!...you really need to get a hobby."
My reply was " I’ve got two, heraldry and beer:D"
She just shook her head in disbelief.
I’ll post pics of the labels as I drink them.
I have just the remedy where your wife can enjoy both of your hobbies…

Despite the "Englishness" of the label, it is actually brewed right here on the Gold Cold Coast in Queensland by the Burleigh Brewing Company. It is an English style of beer.

Many years ago my then-roommate picked up a set of crystal beer glasses at a yard sale. He wound up giving them to me when I moved out because he never gained an appreciation for beer. I don’t know anything about this particular beer and can’t seem to find a logo on the Net. Anyway, I pulled one out from the cupboard and here are some pics:
The arms differ from those on a bottle currently on eBay.

A strange combination of name and arms. Franz-Joseph usually refers to the emperor of Austria-Hungary, but these are the Bavarian arms. Unless its a reference to Franz-Joseph Strauss, the longtime leader of the main Bavarian political party, the CSU, but that would seem unlikely.
The translation on the glass is:- "Franz Joseph rejoicing beer". So I guess it’s a matter of research as to whom this exactly refer’s considering the Bavarian arms.
.....and talking of Bavaria, here is another label, with the company laying claim to being the oldest brewery in the world….established in 1040. Could you imagine the price of a flagon of ale of that vintage at auction!!

Then there is the English connection with this one…apparently just about the most popular label in the UK at the moment…....Brewed by Charles Wells of Bedford, (established in 1876) and one of the top 4 breweries in the UK

Barrie,
Thanks for the posts reminding me of my Bavarian heritage and
the wonderful brews produced there.
I noticed this the other day at the store. I saw that it wasn’t upload in here, so I’m taking the liberty.
There is a lot of dust in this thread. It’s been empty for awhile
