From 1935 until independence in 1946, the Philippines held the status of a commonwealth of the United States. A coat-of-arms was adopted which appeared on the presidential flag as well as on the seals of the Filipino currency. Here are the few examples of the coat-of-arms that I have.

The central cartouche (?) in the old Commonwealth’s arms is a differenced version of the arms of Manila, although one wonders why the flag-maker rendered the lower half in argent instead of azure.
