Greetings all, I am helping a friend design arms for himself. Our working blazon is as follows:
Per chevron Azure and Vert, in chief a winged lion passant guardant Or holding a fleur-de-lis Argent, and in base a plate en soleil Or
He wonders about flipping the charges, putting the rayed roundel in chief and the lion in base. I don’t think that arrangement will fill the fields well (the top being left too empty, and the poor lion being squished. But since I am not an artist, I though that would ask if my concerns are correct.
Make the plate issuant from the dividing line and change the lion to rampant and you’re good to go.
