A reader of my blog on heraldry has asked for my assistance in identifying a coat of arms. After going through my armorials and ordinaries (well, in the time that I had to do that this weekend), I was unable to make any identification. I asked his permission, and having received it, am now out here in the hopes that more eyes looking at it will help us to find out whose arms these are. A picture of the arms, and a little more background on them and the search I’ve already made, can be found on-line at: http://blog.appletonstudios.com/2013/03/a-request-for-assistance.html
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give.
David

...Most important for us is the report of the Constanz Council held in the second decennium of the fifteenth century which was attended by some Ethiopian delegates.. Ulrich Richental, the chronicler of the Council, gives the coats of arms of these delegates:

...the data from Ulrich Richental are copied by Konrad Grüneberg in his “Wappenbuch” (about 1480) ...

Success!
A correspondent has been able to identify the arms that I had asked for help with. Several people had found similar arms (including Guy Power here), but someone was able to find the exact arms. The identification, with a couple of emblazons as well as all of the sources, has been posted on my blog at http://blog.appletonstudios.com/2013/03/a-successful-search-for-coat-of-arms.html
Thank you all for your assistance! I’ve been able to successfully report back to my original inquiry.
