I have just been notified that Doug Welsh has passed away.  Doug passed away this morning at 2:51 am after a long and hard fight with esophageal cancer.

Many of you may recognize his arms below, he has been around the Heraldry arena for many years.  Those of you that did not know him, he was a fine man.

If you have facebook and would like to send a wish to his family, his wall is here:

Thank you for notifying us Terry… devastating. My heart goes out to his friends and family and I’m deeply saddened by this.

He’ll be missed.

I’ve suggested this before, but would the board and membership be open to creating a permanent roll of arms of deceased members? Or a permanent spot in the members’ roll?

sounds like a fitting tribute to me, but could create some minor confusion if the Heraldic Heir were to join the AHS

I think making the arms permanent would be a good thing, but i dont think it requires much more than adding the years lived and maybe some personal information. If it came to it, adding a black outline to the thumbnail image on the main armorial page would suffice. I dont think adding a new roll to the works would be needed if other things arw being used to mark the individual.
