I would love to feature a tabard of Maine (Acadia Herald?) on my blog, with your permission!

I think a rendition of the legal blazon (with an Argent field) as opposed to the landscape in the modern-official version would be pretty slick.

Easily done, since my emblazonment of the Maine arms was already available.

For those states with "difficult" (or no) arms, you might consder the versions displayed in the cathedral in Aberdeen (on HSS forum).  e.g. California, based on the Bear flag—if as some scholars claim, heraldry began with flags &only later morphed tp shields, why not consider a useful state flag over a really poor seal?

By the way—when did New Jersey become the Keystone State? —I thought that was/is Pennsylvania.

I’m not planning to do all the states anyway, just those with passable arms.

It is.  The tabard for Keystone Herald

is emblazoned with the arms of Pennsylvania:

This is the tabard for New Jersey, which Fr. Guy dubbed "Garden Herald."

Ah—my bad—reading too many posts too late at night too quickly.

Nicely done!

I nominate Arriano as Paste-Pot Pursuivant (a faux title I occasionally used in jest on rec.heraldry, but in my case it really was scissors & paste, not clip-art)
