Well, as the title suggests, I hope this is the beginning, of what I hope to be a fairly flourishing interest of mine of being a heraldic artist.
Here’s my first work other, than my own: Steven Martinez’s (aka ElSteveo) arms.

Very nice work. Congratulations!
And oh yeah, I’d be more than willing to do emblazonments for people if you like. Just PM me. no charge whatsoever, for now…...
Good luck Louis and welcome aboard the heraldic arts craft.
Well, I can do freehand, its just that I don’t have a scanner
Well besides, I’ve gotten used to ‘Paint’ and the one-click-color-is-there-BAM! tool sure isn’t as tiresome as paints, pencils, etc.
Absolutely goregous!
We sure do have quite a talented group here, don’t we fellas?
Looks good Louis! I understand the scanner problem. I have one - a Lexmark - and while it is good for basic things it tends to pixel a lot and worse tends to blur darker colors on to lighter ones nearby. I totally understand.
The freehand looks great. When you get a scanner you should show more of them to us, as I do. I can tell you that there are times I do not see things until someone else points it out. And the guys here are great for support, ideas, criticism, etc. all of which are essential tools for me as an artist and I’m sure others as well - maybe you.
Congrats Louis…fine job.
Thanks everyone! I’ve already gotten 4 requests for renderings. And a couple actually asked for how much I charge. But seeing as I’ve promised that I won’t charge, for now…..I won’t. But I will accept donations, maybe? Which leads to my question: how do you artists get paid? Do you just give your address to customers and have the money mailed? Or something like that?
congrats Louis! i am happy for you. i hope this is only the beginning for you.
if you’d like to know how i get paid and more personal stuff please pm me and i will try to get back to you ASAP.
congrats again.
Like i said before you are amazing.
Louis,
Great job on the emblazonments. The freehand drawing looks truly outstanding!
Take care,
Holy-moley Louis ... you’re getting down-right clever! These are looking very nice indeed.
And I swear that rooster is looking me out of the corner of his eye ... kind of a mean, evil, squint at that! I must quit drinking coffee so late at night ... I’m getting down-right paranoid!

Very very nice. We have some very talented artists here (me not being one of them)
Good job Louis. I really like how you used "black-scale" for the mantle and cock and pure black for the field. Very nice indeed. One thing, however, and this is just a suggestion, but can you make the tie around the neck of the cock an orange tenne and not a brown one?
Colin don’t be hard on yourself! You are doing absolutely great with the design of both yours and your wife’s arms! They are coming along very nicely.

Yes but design and artistry are different. I feel I am good at design, but terrible at artistry. No problem I am good at other things and accept that.
