Last night saw another wonderful evening at the NY Genealogical & Biographical Society on 58th Street in NYC. The most recent lecture, sponsored by the Heraldry Committee of the G&B and the College of Arms Foundation, Inc. was delivered by Bruce Patterson, Saguenay Herald of the Canadian Heraldic Authority on American Influences in Canadian Heraldry. His talk was lavishly illustrated and most interesting. There has, indeed, been a great influence from Canada’s neighbor to the south on arms in Canada particularly in some civic heraldic achievements. Bruce is an excellent speaker and very entertaining. Questions followed the talk and he answered them with aplomb and good humor. All in all a very enjoyable evening.
