Dear Colleagues,
Heraldry, at least my small part, is alive and kicking here in the California Republic.
Here is a photo of my daughter at sword and sshield praactice last week. We made these wooden shields to go with some swords we bought at a Renaissance fair.
She is carrying my shield, which she had begged to borrow because it looks like the banner hanging outside her bedroom. (She painted her shield with a pink, swirly, sparkly device. She’s eight, after all.) I took this picture as she was moving in to a direct attack. I had just whacked her one on the shoulder for dropping her shield too low and she’s mad.
See that warrior look in her eyes? THAT’S my girl, and she’ll bear those arms herself one day.

Really? That surprises me… did you try using the little icon above the posting window that has a couple of mountains and a sun on it? That allows you to link to a picture that’s on the web somewhere else.

True, but the pic I wanted to post was on my hard drive.
At any rate, I decided to join. ‘Bout time, huh?
Joseph
Even if you join you won’t be able to post here directly off of your hard drive. You’ll need a photobucket (or some other free webhosting) account to post from.
Failte in advance Joseph.
Patrick’s right. I use Image Shack and I’m sure there’re others - I’m not the most computer/internet savvy person here…
Cue dramatic intro again….and…action!

Thanks, all, for sound advice. I’m glad I joined, and hope I may prove worthy of company so august and friendly, two qualities the world sorely lacks in these dark days.
Let me try agaain with the picture, invoking the help of the good folks at FLICKR.
Regards,
Joseph
