Hello

I obtained a book called “Cartas de Brasao de Armas” by Nuno Borrego from interlibrary loan.  It was published in 2003 and contains almost one thousand transcriptions of Portuguese grants of arms from the 16th to the 19th centuries:

It is a wonderful resource and if you can get hold of a copy I think you will find it very interesting.

very interesting!

Does it have any images of the actual grant? I would be very interested in seeing the coat of arms of the heraldic authority of the Kingdom of Portugal.

The book contains about half a dozen black and white photos of Portuguese grants.  Many of these photos only show the arms.  Here is a link to a photo and text of a Portuguese grant of arms:
