For those interested in the War of the Roses, this is a fascinating book. It’s derived from the Paston Letters, which are remarkable in themselves. I’m a little more than halfway thru the book, and there isn’t all that much mention of Heraldry, but there is one very neat description of the Badge of the Bishop of Norwich Walter Lyhert:
"...A punning device of a deer at rest amid the gentle eddies of a stream ("Wa’ter Lie-hart")... can still be seen carved into the corbels that support the soaring vaulted roof of the great cathedral"
