I just saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie and was excited to see the College of Arms forecourt. The building was utilized in a couple of quick establishing shots where it stood in as the exterior of a character’s London mansion.
As a tradition here in Sweden the Film Ivanhoe (the 1982 version) was televised on the first Day of the Year. There was a lot of heraldry to be seen like the canting Arms of Reginald Front de Boeuf a Bull’s Head afronté and the sinister Arms of Sir Brian de Bois-Guilbert - Gules a Raven Sable sitting of a Human Skull Argent.
great on both accounts.
Coming out this year starring Russel Crow.
Check this TRAILER
At the 38 sec. and 1:11 markers you can see banners, one is Gules three chevrons Or. At the 1:11 marker you can easily see a Hospitaller banner.
Check out this photo of banners flying.
And this one of Richard I’s Gules three leopards Or (with something else tacked on to the fly?).

GREAT FIND!
love The Simpsons. lol
I was just watching the movie "Hidalgo" (Viggo Mortensen) and noticed that "Lady Anne Davenport’s" horse sported a blanket with a large emblazon: "Argent a chevron between three crosses crosslet fitchee Sable"—I couldn’t find a screen shot of the blanket, but it is seen near the beginning after arriving in the desert, before the race. It was a quick view, but this was the emblazon:

Definitely someone did his homework!

Perhaps one of our intreped members can find a screen shot?

I’ve never seen the film, but there is a branch of this family in South Australia sporting these arms and originally from Surrey IIRC

Father, ... someone did their homework there, as well! Nice arms.

Sorry, I don’t understand why this was not posted under Religious Heraldry?
Because the preceding posts were discussing the arms of "Davenport" as having been seen in a film. Did you read the entire thread before posting or are you simply reacting to the last post in the thread?
Sorry, Father. As a matter of fact, I have read this entire thread, over the last two years and all eleven pages. I just did not make the connection
when you posted the arms of the RC Diocese. Going back quickly, I still can’t find the original discussion of Davenport in a film or anything resembling that shield.
Guess we can chalk it up to advancing age, poor eyesight. Certainly not lack of interest.
David, see message #99 regarding the movie Hidalgo.
