The US Heraldic Registry site states that, for a fee, they’ll provide the artwork. Does anyone know how good their art is? I don’t want to pay the fee, then end up with something I could have done myself. Does anyone have any examples?

There are samples on the USHR website on the services page. There are many heraldic artists out there. See the members pages ( http://www.heraldrysociety.us/memberarms.php) for examples.
I can personally attest to the excellent quality of their work. My arms were emblazoned by Michael Swanson (USHR).

Thank you.
I can also say from personal experience that Michael’s work is terrific.
I’ve been know to do some renderings of arms. You can contact me through my private email/message for details and examples.
