Something like this?

What about two stylized trees, budding with new life, their branches reaching out and entwining, perhaps rising from a mount of ashes?
Keeping in mind that the trees need work, is this along the lines of what you meant?
Here is an attemp at the two trees I suggested. Don’t know about tinctures.
That is extremely nice, Fr. Byers.
Cheers,

Yeah. Perhaps four roses for each of the four planes’s victims, the billets representing windows of the buildings.
Although the discussion I started in the thread, A Learning Question, originally had nothing to do with this thread, the discussions played off each other in the back of my head.
So right now this a draft design I’m working on for my 9/11 project:

Per Saltire Argent and Vert four acacia branches in cross stems joined in center counterchanged
Fr. Byers has a nice suggestion there. The sapplings, rising, suggesting onward, upward growth, balanced in strength and proportion, sure do strike a chord in me.
Both designs - the two saplings and the roundel per saltire—are IMO very good heraldry. For this purpose, I would prefer the readily apparent symbolism of the twin saplings.
I kept working on this design, but ultimately hit a wall. So I asked for some help.
Sandy Turnbull designed the arms, and Terry Sarros emblazoned them.
Thanks guys.

Crest:
From a torse of the colors and issuant out of flames a Bald Eagle displayed Proper
Dale,
:D
Take care,
Yes, a wonderful design, beautifully emblazoned.
Except for "sanguine," harumph, harumph.
(It looks like gules anyway—why not call it that?)
FAN-F***ING-TASTIC! (Did I say that out loud?)
I must agree with Phil: The bald-eagle-turned-phoenix is wonderful. Sandy and Terry (as well as yourself) are to be commended.
