I saw these arms on the exterior wall of the Camden, Maine, public library. Not sure their origins, thought I would share!

A quick google search turned up the following information:

Crest—An elephant’s head, erased, arg.
Supporters—Dexter, a griffin, sa., beak and fore-legs, gu. ; sinister, a lion, rampant, or, each gorged with a collar, arg., charged with three mullets, sa.
Mottoes—Judicium parium aut lex terrae.
The link for the webpage is as follows: http://heralogic.eu/burke_c.html
The same Lord Camden’s arms inspied the arms of the Catholic diocese of Camden NJ.
Thanks for filling it in, guys! I tried seeing if the town website would have any image of it, or if they used it officially, but it didn’t look like it. Looks like they use one of those old landscapes-as-badges.
Thanks!
