The third option is decent, but I see alot of people voting for that horrible first version.  "Ooooh-look at our town!  We’re unique because we have a river!  No other city in America has a river that is blue and curves!!"

Vote here: http://www.leesburgva.gov/250/default.aspx

When I posted this a few minutes ago, #1 was ahead.  I think we moved the voting so that #3 is winning.  At least #3 can be blazoned.

Naughty I know as someone who’s not even a resident of the US, but I voted for #3 too.

#1 All that needs to be said about it has.

#2 is just about OK but it does look a bit Australasian

#3 is acceptable

#4 Hmm, I could live with it but would prefer not to have to - its uninspired

#5 help, someone’s run over the Countess of Loudoun

Once again, the token Nova Scotian (who looks forward to the days of the United Provinces of Canada, which he hopes will include much of the Bahamas, the Bermudas, Barbudas, Antiguas and other "nice" Caribbean isles, as well as the 50 former States) is running a slightly diverging course.  I dislike #1 but preferred # 4, although I could live with #3 if I had to.

I voted for 3, but could also live with 4.

P.S. Doug, have you seen the Jesusland/Canada map? LOL

By the way, this contest is not for Loudoun, Virginia, but for Leesburg, the seat of Loudoun County. Loudoun County already has arms devised by the College of Arms and the county flag is a banner of those arms: Gyronny of eight Ermine and Gules a bordure embattled Vert goutty Argent. (Or, as I prefer to emblazon it, goutty de lait, since the white drops are intended to symbolize the dairy industry that was the mainstay of the county’s agricultural economy until it suburban sprawl turned much of it into a bedroom community for Washington.)

Oh God!  I’m afraid to think about that!  No.  Should I be afraid?

I voted for #3 as well, although #4 was a close runner-up.  However, now that I’ve seen the county arms, I really wish that the flag I voted for was Ermine rather than Argent.

I was trying to play fair. I only voted on my work computer, my laptop, and my home PC. But now that you mention it….

At least right now #4 has pulled ahead of #1. It and #3 were tied at 183 until I just voted again for #3.

I have voted multiple times for no. 3. None of the designs are actually good. Too bad the city did not offer the designing process to this society.

I know it’s just a silly little non-scientific poll on choosing a flag for a place where none of us live, but I am somewhat concerned with the number of people who seem to have no problem at all with multiple voting.  In a genuine situation, that could result in voter fraud charges.

My concern relates to heraldry thus - The art began as a way to identify honorable men.  Would early armigers have cheated, too?
