This all sounds very exciting. :D An interesting alternative. Also, it would appear that they will accept applications for Grants of Arms from anyone residing in any country. This is exciting. Definitely worth looking into.

Another problem (for me at least) is finding a bank that will sell international bank drafts denominated in Kenyan Shillings. Is anyone aware of an internet accessible service whereby a person can order international bank drafts denominated in any currency?
I have been searching for an institution that offers such a service but so far I have not found one. I will call the Kenyan Embassy and find out if they know of a solution for this problem.

Western Union can do this.

Another question, is there a specified format for the submission of arms that are required for the Grant of Arms? A4, A5 size paper? Or could it be of any size?

The problem I have with Western Union is that it’s a lot like sending cash in an envelope….
But, if that’s the best way and the contact person in Kenya is ok with it, then I guess it’s ok.
Does anybody have family or a buddy in Kenya that can take a "bulk order" from all of us here? I’m sure we can make it worth his/her while… Just an idea… :D

A4 for the form and for the illustrations.
I don’t know if this helps or not. But, when I registered my personal arms with the South African Bureau of Heraldry I used the services of a financial institution that I wrote them a check and they issues a money order or official check to the BHSA in South African Rands.
Here is their contact information:
Ruesch International, Accounts Receivable
700 11th Street, NW
Washington, DC 20002
Phone: 1-800-424-2923
I hope this helps.
Excellent, thank you David. :D
Does the Kenyan College of Arms accept American currency? If so, then that might be another option to consider.

An US dollar draft drawn on a US bank would result in extra cost for the Kenyan CoA such as international draft cashing fees and currency exchange fees, in the US this would come to about 35 USD in bank charges, in many EU countries this could amount to about 50 USD in bank fees. It is much better to arrange for a draft in KES drawn through or upon a bank in Kenya.
I spoke with a lady at the Kenyan Embassy in Washington D.C. She suggested sending the money via Western Union money gram. As Western Union would accept the US dollars on our side and give out Kenyan Shillings on the other side.
The difficulty here is there needs to be a person on the other side (Kenya) to pickup and accept the money. Does anyone know a name or a way to contact someone at the College of Arms in Kenya who would be willing to be the named person and pickup the money?
I will be preparing my application and required legal proofs for the Kenyans as I just read in this week’s Economist that the Kenyan shilling is overvalued and ready for an downward adjustment. I suppose that I will hold the completed paperwork until the rate changes in favour of the US dollar.

Update: I have had my paper cut for the copies of my RSA Registrations (A-4 size) and the paper for my images of my arms and badge for the Kenyan Register cut (17cm x 13cm) and tomorrow I will have them printed out.
I was able to locate a very informative article from a Kenyan newspaper about the Kenyan College of Arms. I found the article on a password protected news site so I cannot simply give the link. I have dowloaded the .pdf and will ask Kimon if he can upload it to this site for all to read.
KES is currently 75.80 per 1 USD
As requested - article attached to this post
Interesting article BTW.
Nice Thank you for the article Kimon.
