As some of you might know I started a little project of mine I had planned some time ago. A social networking site just for heraldry.
The scope of the project is that the site allows armigers to register and post a picture of their coat of arms for free. People that register can choose to create a online profile with their biography and/or create a online armorial page with their own coat of arms. What makes the project special is that the whole site is dynamic, which means that registered users can maintain their own profile and update it when needed.
An important feature is that people can select when they upload their family arms where it is registered. If people need more features I will be happy to add them
People can apply for roles depending on their interest. E.g. registered users as mere fans of heraldry, armigers as people who have a coat of arms, and contributors.
People can create content linked to their profile. All new content that is posted is being distributed to Google and all major Blog engines automatically.
The site remains a work in progress, I plan to upload the full Rietstap when I have time as well.
You can visit the site @ www.onlinearmorial.com
Some small updates.
I have added the possibility for Asking Experts a question. So basically those of you who have an expertise send me an email if you want to join. People can ask questions via the website and experts receive an email, they answer it and the site will add the question and the answer to the users profile for all to see.
that sounds nice. and the site looks good. congrats.
Thank you
Hi, I have joined your "Online Armorial" website with a new account. Thanks for posting your website link here. :D
You’re welcome, you have been granted more permissions.
Thankyou Mister Oudman. :D
You’re welcome anytime Mr. Garrison
FYI, Google Maps is now integrated into the site and so is Facebook :p
I must say, the Google Maps app is very cool.
Several members asked that this thread be attended to. Certainly the announcement of other websites, forums and online heraldic projects is welcomed here. Beyond the announcement, and perhaps a link as well, ongoing updates and conversations concerning another site unconnected to the AHS isn’t really the purpose of this Forum. Those things can better be handled privately via emails.
Thanks.
No problem, thnx for the heads up.
