The Swedish Parish was originally both a unit of the Church and of Civil Administration. In the administrative reform of 1863 this later was separated to for the basis of the Parish Municipality which lost their administrative function in the 1952 mergers into larger Municpalities. They however remains as historical units and as such the Parish Heraldry Institute of the Swedish Heraldry Society has set out to create heraldic Arms to be used as symbols mainly by the Local Historical Societies. Timmele Parish, Province of Västergötland.
The Rifles symbolises the Timmele Heath where the Infantry of the Royal Älvsborg Regiment used to exercise. The Scales is a symbol of the District Court of the Hundred of Redväg situated here.

Gustaf Adolf Parish, Province of Västergötland.
The Crown symbolises King Gustaf IV Adolf the namegiver to the Parish. The Pile sinister (is that the correct term?) is a symbol of the Lamp Factory in the Parish.

Bjälbo Parish, Province of Östergötland. The Hearts is from the Arms of Birger Jarl, the acctual regent of Sweden 1248-1266. He was born in the Parish. The Pale is from the Arms of the Judge and Esquire Magnus Valdemarsson (known 1313-1331), who owned the Estate Sjuntorp in the Parish.

Skillingmark, Province of Värmland. The Fir Trees symbolises the many Forests in the Parish. The silver roundels - skillingar (a form of old coins) on the mark (ground) makes the lower part canting. The Roundels also alludes to the Folklore Tale that the people threw two hollow tree trunks into the water and where the first one filled with coins (skillingar) tuched land the Skillingmark Church was built. Where the second one filled with Horseshoes landed, the Järnskog Church was built. The division of the Shield denotes the closeness to the Border to Norway.

Östra Tollstad, Mjölby Municipality, Province of Östergötland. The Two piles are from the Arms of Niclis Kista (known 1394) owner of Estates in the Parish. The Fess and Pale cojoined alludes to the first initial in Tollstad. The name originates from the ancient God Thor and the t-shape also can be intrepretated as his Hammer Mjölner.

The Parish of Mörsil, Municipality of Åre, Province of Jämtland. The Embattlement symbolsies the old fortifications and the Spears the Border fighting between Denmark (to which Norway belonged at this time) and Sweden in former times.
