The image that was originally posted above, was removed while we made a small adjusment to the wolf’s toungue…it didn’t look right.

I LOVE the effect of the diapering. Looks like a "distressed" surface, having encountered more than a few swords and lances in its day.

To be honest Doug, it’s not diapering at all but exactly as you say, a distressed effect to make it look like having encountered more than a few swords and lances in its day.

I absolutely love the distressed look of the shield. The only criticism that I might offer is that I think that the charges should all have a black outline, or none. Personally, I like the simplicity of no outline.
I love the shield, the only thing I don’t like is the outline on the wolf, otherwise it looks fantastic.
