I don’t like the ermine spots in the bend, I would suggest blazoning the shield argent with the bend or whatever between ermine spots.
Ah, but Xander. A master like you I’m sure would fill that space so completely with the lion himself that there would be no room for the ermine spots in the first place. I, of course, had to rely on clip art for my demonstration purposes.
Mr. Boyd’s blazon sounds good. Ermine a bend (or pale, fesse or anything) argent, I wonder if something that plain has been done before?
And Mr. Mansfield flatters me too much, but thank you.
Perhaps better would be Ermine on a Bend potenty Azure voided Argent a Lion passant guardant Gules langued and armed Azure. That would avoid the ermine spots on the bend.
Agreed. If the blazon says the lion (or whatever) is on an ermine field between two cotisses or whatever, it all but requires at least some attempt to show ermine spots around or partly under the beastie—in this case, not a desirable result.

Mr. Mansfield has done wonderfully.
Nice design; hate the blazon. But maybe it’s the best possible.
its almost been a year since my last post regarding the design of my coat of arms. after much thought i decided to simplify the design. this is what i came up with. i just hope it not too simple and currently being used.
Very different from previous designs. Care to elaborate on the rationale for the new direction?
My personal hangup, but I don’t like to see black next to blue. I know it may not be a technical violation of the tincture rule, but I think it looks better to stick with a color/metal partition of the shield. What about argent/sable with a azure mullet on argent or argent/azure with a sable mullet on argent?
I don’t know where you’re going with your new design, but I can’t resist sharing a "dexter" cant that came to me. Not as subtle as Kenneth’s back in post 23, but: Per pale Argent and Azure on the first a dexter hand erect apaumé couped at the wrist of the second.

This is genius. He should grab it while it’s available! Heck, maybe I’ll change my surname to Dexter…or Wright…:)
Wow!—Fr. D has another winner!
RE: the immediately earlier one—quarterly a star in dexter chief—one concern would be the likelihood of too close resemblance to some historical example. Also IMO it looks just a bit too generically "who’s that?"—like something I might see on a pack of cigarettes. But to each his own!

HAPPY HOLIDAY’S GUYS..
