Per bend nebuly Or and Azure, in sinister chief a sytlized camera, lens to base Sable. The Motto translates as "He Aims at Difficult Things". Approved 12 November 1942.

50th Figther Group. Azure an Opinicus passant Argent. Approved on 9 January 1942. On 10 September 1992 the same Arms but with the Motto altered to "Master of Space" was approved for the 50th Space Wing.

58th Figther Group. Azure, on clouds in base a representation of the Greek mythological goddess Artemis with quiver and bow, in her chariot drawn by two deer, all Or. Approved on 10 August 1942. The Motto translaes "I will not return unavenged". Today this Arms without the Motto is used by the 58th Special Operations Wing.

64th Troop Carrier Group. Azure, an eagle’s leg a la cuisse Or charged with a mullet of the field. Approved on 16 June 1942.

81st Fighter Group, Constituted as 81st Pursuit Group on 13 January 1942 and activated on 9 February 1942. Blazon: Or a dragon salient wings displayed and addorsed Azure, armed and langued Gules incensed Proper, holding in its dexter claw a stylized Boll weevil Sable. Approved on 2 March 1943.

88th Bombardment Group, constitited as 88th bombardmedn Group (Heavy) on 28 Janaury 1942 and activated on 15 July 1942 but not manned until September that Year. Blazon: Azure, a glass throughout shattered, argent. Approved on 7 January 1943.

89th Troop Carrier Group, constituted as 89th Transport Group on 19 Janaury 1942 and activated on 1 February 1942. Blazon: Or upon and over a bendlet Gules a stylized radial motor Azure, that poation over the second fimbriated of the field surmonted by a torteau fimbriated Argent, and charged with a winged helmeted head of a soldier couped of the last. The Motto translates as "First with the most Men". Approved on 5 January 1943.

327th Fighter Group. Or, the head of the mythical Gorgon Medusa affronte azure, armed gules. The Motto translates as "Courage does not fail me". approved on 27 February 1943.

326th Fighter Group. Azure, a Cockatrice volant Or, crested and beaked Gules.

Approved on 31 December 1942.

The 326th was constituted on 24 June 1942 and activated on 19 August the same Year. Served as part of the Air Defence and also as an operational training Unit. Later become a replacement training unit with P-47 and trained Pilots for combat duties. Disbanded on 10 April 1944. Based was Mitchel Field, NY; Bradley Field, Conn.; Westover Field, Mass and Seymour Johnson Field, NC. Reconstituted and redesignated 326th FG (Air Defense) on 20 June 1955 and activated on 18 August the same Year and assigned to Air Defense Command and equipped with F-86 and based at Paine AFB, Wash.

And as it turns out the 487th flew B-24 Liberator and B-17 Flying Fortress during WW II. The Group was active 20 Septemebr 1943 to 7 November 1945. Reactivated in 1983as the 487th Tactical Missile Wing and based at Comiso Air Station in Italy until deactivated in 1991. Redesignated as 487th Air Expeditionary Wing and activated at Cairo West in March 2003 for Operation Iraqi Freedom and deactivated after 90 days of service.

11th Bombardment Group.

Azure (Air Force Blue), on a bend or (Air Force Yellow), three grey geese volant proper (in their natural colors). Crest: on a wreath or and azure a grey goose proper with wings displayed and inverted.

Approved 11 June 1941. The Motto translates as "Progress without Fear or Prejudice".

Azure a sword point to base or, hilt flamant proper; a brodure gyronny of twelve of the second and the first.

Motto: Spiritus Omnia Vincet = The Spirit Conquers All.

These Arms was approved 3 February 1942.

Flew bomber missions over the Balkans, Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Poland and Czechoslovakia. Returned to the US in July 1945 and inactivated 15 October 1945.

Activated 28 January 1942, to the UK August-September 1942. As part of the 8th Air Force the Group participated in the Strategic Bomber Offensive until April 1945. Inactivated in Germany 25 December 1946.

Activated 28 January 1942. In February 1943 to Guadalcanal, and was active in the Pacific through the War. Inactivated in the USA 18 January 1946.

313th TCG. Per bend Azure and Gules a winged Aeroplane Or charged with a Mullet Azure between six mullets Or.

 

313th TCG was activated 28 January 1942. To North Africa in April-May 1943. Supported the Landings in Sicily, where it was based from August. On 13 Septemerb 1943 Dropped Paratroopers over Salerno. In February 1944 to the UK, dropped Paratroopers over Normandy on the D-day, and later over Arnhem and Nijmegen. In February-May relocated to France from where it flew in support of the Rhine crossings, dropping Paratroopers. Returned to the US August-Septemebr 1945 and inactivated 15 November 1945.

320th BG. Azure an winged Alligator Or with wings and armed Gules and "movement strokes" Or. Approved 3 March 1943.

The Group was activated 19 June 1942, to North Africa Decemerb 1942-January 1943, relocated to France November 1944 and to Germany in June 1945. At the end of 1945 returned to the US, where it was inactivated 4 December 1945.
