The UK based IT site The Register (aka "El Reg") has the following interesting story on the United States Cyber Command.

Confusion over ‘secret code’ in US military Cyberforce crest

Warning, those of a sensitive heraldic nature should not click on the link. The USAF is a paragon of heraldic virtue in comparison.

Surely this was designed by a committee…how interesting though to put a coded message on the design. (I am reminded of the secret decoder rings that used to be offered in boxes of breakfast ceral when I was a boy.)  Now, to dig out the old cryptography text I used in graduate school and get to work…

Interesting, yet fairly stupid considering the controversy and conspiracy theories which are bound to start surrounding it.

Now we just need Dan Brown to reference it in another poorly researched novel… :p

I seriously doubt it, especially since it took no more than 5 minutes to "crack" the code.

...but did it take much longer to crack (debunk) the Da Vinci code?  Interesting as a fantasy novel, but really…

If it took you less than 5 minutes to read the book then you’re a heck of a lot faster as a reader than I could ever hope to be.
