I saw this in an ad on the internet. This hotel is owned by the Waldorf. I must say it’s not a totally horrible attempt at using heraldry as a logo. But, it is just that: a logo. I still think that advertising companies turn to heraldic-like images when they’re trying to project an image that a place or product is "elite" thus buying into the perpetuation of the myth that heraldry is only for a certain class of people and not for regular folks.
It seems to be emulating association with a 18th century bananna republic type idea?
Isn’t the 18th century a bit early for a banana republic?
Good point, I was thinking of Sugar Cain Colonies, not Bananna Republics; I get lost quickly if someone isn’t watching me closely and pointing out when I’ve started floating off the planet. :alien:
