The submitted link leads to my collection of blazons recorded in the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo.

Slightly different, but for those interested it’s worth trying to obtain a copy of Leo Mayer’s "Saracenic Heraldry". Dry, and pictureless, but a good for its day (Oxford University Press - 1933) account of examples of the art, with description (including any inscription in Arabic) and provenance.

I got a copy of the 1999 reprint (ISBN 0-19-817120-X) which may still be available.

Thank you ! I just checked ,the book is available from Amazon.com and while browsing I found this gorgeous example from Aleppo which is quite similar to some other blazons I drew in the museum . I will add them later on .

Very nice, Anna.  Thanks for posting these.  There is a thread already about Mamluk heraldry, btw wink  I wish you would have added these to them so it is all in one place.

Forgive me Hassan but I’m lost in the meanders of this HUGE forum !

There is 38 pages of threads on Foreign Arms and I didn’t explore even a quarter of them ! wink

Is it possible for the moderator of the Forum to move the whole thread to the right place ? I hope so ...
