Hi,

I was wondering what is your design inspiration for each of the charges and the tinctures you decided to use in your shield?  smile

Thanks!!

One needn’t—& maybe shouldn’t—take one’s State, any more than one’s self, too seriously.

On the other hand, I expect we’ll still be here when everything east of the Sierras drops off into the Atlantic.

Hi there, sorry I was on holiday and didn’t check the forum.  Was someone asking me my design inspiration for each of the charges and the tinctures I decided to use in the shield?

I did, thank you.  smile  The castle and water is basic symbolism for that meaning.  The three mullets are to signify the three members of his immediate family.  The arm and torch signifies his profession (funeral director).  The colors are his preferred colors.

Brother Schotz,

In my own assumed arms, I indicated my Masonic affiliation with the addition of a chevronel in base.  I agree that you should probably lose the Square and Compasses in the crest - not for any reason of secrecy, but because it just makes it too "busy".

Are you greatly attached to the idea of the three mullets?  I might recommend replacing them with Beehives - which would allow you to keep the Masonic symbolism, but in a way that is much less "in your face".
