Jordan spent some of her 14th year deciding on her arms. She made her choice, and on my father’s 100th birthday I presented her with her banner. She wanted only a small difference, choosing a yellow rose, her mother’s favorite flower.

a very nice brisure choice - beautiful arms!
Very nice. Will Jordan’s arms be displayed on a lozenge?
Thank you!
I don’t think she will choose to do so. She likes the shield shape and, if you look around this site, I think there’s a picture of her bearing my arms during sword practice. (Every lady needs to know how to deliver a devastating riposte, right?)
Joseph, looks great!
Can we get the specific blazon you are using to describe this?
Argent, three bars dancetty, the top and bottom azure and the center sable, in the center of the top stripe a rose or.

Excellent thank you!

I don’t think that cadency brisures are usually blazoned so specifically; usually just "a rose Or for difference" IIRC.
May I ask the blazon of your crest, and your motto? I can’t quite make them out in your avatar.

Steven, Joseph may correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe this was done as a systematic cadency brisure, it’s simply a "change" of the arms for difference. The rose, as Steven said, was her selection, not obtained from a cadency system thus her arms are permanently and uniquely hers rather than just charged with a temporary device to indicate some kind of birth order.
I gather that in this case, she could have chosen any other manner of differencing to include a complete change in design elements. The Rose Or and it’s placement were done purely out of preference.
My concern there is that someone would imagine the rose goes at the top of the arms, above the stripe.
Crest: a Demi- grizzly rampant, languid and armed gules, gorged with an iron collar a broken chain affixed thereto passing between the forelegs and reflexed over the back, holding in its dexter paw a honeycomb all proper.
Motto: Fero gaudiumque dolorem. "I bear jor and sorrow."
Slogan: Fiercely now.

Quite right Joseph! "... half past eleven Kappelman, deceived by a new softness and slowness of riposte and parry in Mary Adrian, tried to kiss her. Instantly she slapped his face with such strength and cold fury that he shrank down, sobered, with the flaming red print of a hand across his leering features. And all ..."

Joseph, do you have any connection to Estonia? Every time I look at your arms, Estonia is the first thing that comes in mind!
I like the new addition to the Staub arms. Does this mean that the bear is now going to hold a rose instead of the honeycomb?
No connection to Estonia, though I like their flag.
Jeffrey is correct about the rose being her preference.
Jordan has not decided on a crest. In all honesty, she’s still wrapping her head around that concept.
It’s very cool that she has taken an interest in heraldry and wants to be sure that she has her own arms as well. She came up with a very nice idea.
Joseph, I’ve always loved your arms/design. It’s great to see that your daughter loves them as well & carrying on the family heraldic tradition.
Ditto to Jared all around. Beautiful simple arms, beautiful simple brisure, & I’m sure a beautiful but never simple bearer!
