An interesting note on the Canadian Heraldic Authority’s Facebook page: this weekend, the Saguenay and Miramichi Heralds (Forrest Pass and Manon Labele) were married in Ottawa.  It’s believed to be the first instance of two heralds marrying each other ever.

Do they each have personal/family arms to impale or otherwise marshall?  (If the arms are as attractive as the couple, should make a nice display!)

I could not find either in the CHA online database; but why wouldn’t a herald have arms?  You’d think that it would be part of new-employee orientation at Rideau Hall.

"Welcome to he exciting life as herald. Your first assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to design arms for yourself!"

Well, if the Canadian heralds, like their English cousins, must live off of their commissions, they might not find themselves to be particularly valuable clients!
